Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg is a Swedish actor from Sweden. She appeared in numerous films both European as well as American. The most famous of her roles was her role in "La Dolce Vita," an action-comedy film. In 1960 the film was awarded an award of the Golden Palm and an Oscar at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie also enjoyed both critical and commercial success. She was born in Skane where she worked as a model before embarking on performing. She eventually won the Miss Sweden Contest. In the US She began appearing in movies with minor roles. The film 'Abbott and Costello Go to Mars the actress got her first appearance in the role of in the character of Venusian. In the movie 'Blood Alley and 'Blood Alley,' she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for 'Most promising newcomer.' Her films included numerous productions that included the war drama War and Peace, the Western 'Valerie,' the British crime thriller The Man Inside and the French/Italian Drama, The Dam on the Yellow River.' In 2015, she died at the age of 83.
